Global Harvest Initiative Welcomes ACDI/VOCA

WASHINGTON/November 13, 2012 – The Global Harvest Initiative (GHI) today welcomed ACDI/VOCA to its growing collaboration of companies and organizations dedicated to sustainably meeting the future agricultural demand of a growing global population.

“The Global Harvest Initiative is very pleased to welcome ACDI/VOCA,” said Dr. Margaret Zeigler, GHI executive director. “ACDI/VOCA’s expertise in sustainable agricultural development, empowering smallholder farmers, and identifying solutions to hunger and poverty applies to all of GHI’s broad policy areas.”

ACDI/VOCA joins as a consultative partner organization that will support GHI’s mission by providing guidance on its programs, policies, and annual Global Agricultural Productivity Report® (GAP Report®). Vice President for Outreach and Cooperative Programs Dr. Susan G. Schram, an experienced advocate for global agricultural development programs, has been appointed to coordinate ACDI/VOCA’s collaboration with GHI.

“ACDI/VOCA looks forward to working with GHI’s group of like-minded companies and organizations that share the common goal of increasing productivity across the agricultural value chain,” said Dr. Schram. “As highlighted in GHI’s recently released GAP Report®, there are many opportunities for collaboration to help address global poverty and food security.”
