About Us
Our Mission: Eliminate the global productivity gap by sustainably doubling agricultural output to meet the needs of a growing world.
The enormity of the challenge of meeting the agricultural needs of an expanding and more affluent global population is widely accepted. Land, water and habitat constraints are tightening, yet there is a critical need to protect these resources for future generations.
Recognizing the urgency of these challenges, the Global Harvest Initiative was established in 2009. Today our partnership includes DuPont, IBM, John Deere and Monsanto, and we’ve counted upon input from our Consultative Partners, organizations that share our concern about a growing agricultural productivity gap and the need to protect our underlying natural resources while feeding a global population expected to surpass nine billion by 2050. Working together, we can address hunger and food security while responsibly caring for our Earth.
