Daugherty Water For Food Institute – 2013 Water For Food Global ConferenceNew GHI consultative partner Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Institute at the University of Nebraska, opened the 2013 Water for Food Global Conference yesterday in Lincoln, Nebraska and started this morning with remarks from founding executive director Dr. Roberto Lenton and a panel moderated by Jeff Raikes, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation CEO.

This year’s conference focuses on increasing the capacity of our food, water and natural ecosystems to adapt to a changing climate.

GHI executive director Dr. Margaret Zeigler said, “Today I’m attending the 5th Annual Water For Food Global Conference at the University of Nebraska. Water for food is a significant constraint today on farmers all over the world. I look forward to learning more about the new innovations and the necessary policies to grow more using less water to feed a growing world.”
