The Global Harvest Initiative (GHI) welcomed its newest consultative partner today, ACDI/VOCA, a nonprofit international development organization that promotes economic growth and higher living standards in low-income countries.

ACDI/VOCA joins a growing collaboration of companies and organizations dedicated to sustainably meeting the future agricultural demand of a growing global population. As a consultative partner, the organization will provide guidance on GHI’s programs, policies, and annual Global Agricultural Productivity Report® (GAP Report®).

Dr. Margaret Zeigler, GHI executive director, said, “ACDI/VOCA’s expertise in sustainable agricultural development, empowering smallholder farmers, and identifying solutions to hunger and poverty, applies to all of GHI’s broad policy areas.”

Dr. Susan G. Schram, ACDI/VOCA vice president for outreach and cooperative programs, will coordinate the collaboration with GHI as an experienced advocate for global agricultural development.

2012 GAP Report®“ACDI/VOCA looks forward to working with GHI’s group of like-minded companies and organizations that share the common goal of increasing productivity across the agricultural value chain,” said Dr. Schram. “As highlighted in GHI’s recently released GAP Report®, there are many opportunities for collaboration to help address global poverty and food security.”
