Briefing – Too Hot, Too Wet, Too Dry: Building Resilient Agroecosystems – March 20, 2013
Join the Global Harvest Initiative and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute for a briefing on March 20, 2013. We will recognize United Nations World Water Day by hosting “Too Hot, Too Wet, Too Dry: Building Resilient Agroecosystems.”
The discussion will focus on domestic drought, climate change, and Congress’s role in advancing food security. Experts include Dr. Cathie Woteki, USDA Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics; Mark Svoboda, National Drought Mitigation Center Climatologist, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Joel Lipsitch, John Deere Director of Business Integration and Strategy; and April Hemmes, cattle and grain farmer.
